Amazing Deal on a new Printer All-in-One at Staples

This is the last week for the 50$ credit for turning in an old printer at Staples when you purchase a printer regularly priced $199 or more (but it can be on sale for less).

My scanner died a few weeks ago and I've been searching for a new all-in-one with fax since then.  I didn't want to spend more than 100$, but I couldn't find one in that price range that had decent reviews!  So last night I decided that I would check out Best Buy, and see what they had.  I found one, originally $199.98, on sale for $129.99, the Canon Pixma MX860.  The reviews were favorable, it has 5 separate ink cartridges (which I love, I hated my Lexmark 7100 series with just a black and a color tank), and looked like it did everything  I needed.

I decided to check the prices on google shopping though, and realized that Staples carried that printer.  It was still $199.99 at Staples though.  Well, I figure the price match, maybe they'd price match an un-advertised price?  Staples is not far from my house, and I go past it on the way home from Rite Aid, so it wasn't out of my way to check after shopping this morning.  Amazingly they said, yes that they'd price match it, so long that it was in-stock and the same price at a local Best Buy!  AND the sales clerk mentioned that they would do the 50$ printer credit too!  I almost hugged him!

So I ran home and grabbed the dead printer, grabbed the Best Buy phone number, and the Best Buy SKU for the printer, and me and the kids ran (yes, I was running - had to get there before they changed their mind!) to Staples.  So here's how it went down:

Grabbed the Canon Pixma MX860 off the shelf, found a sale floor associate to help me with the price match thing.  Luckily the clerk who was there earlier remembered me and agreed that I could do the PM and the 50$ credit.

Showed the Best Buy phone number and SKU to the associate who called and checked the price and stock.  As long as the other store's system shows they have them in stock, you're good to go!  Then another guy grabbed my old printer and took it off to be buried or whatever they're doing with them LOL

So $199.99 - 70$ price match - 50$ printer credit = $79.99  The manager had to put the price match in showing $79.99 because their system will try to take the PM off as soon as they add the printer credit (?? silly)

So after taxes and two giant lollipops for the kids being so well behaved and putting up with mommy running around like a mad woman, I paid 85 bucks and change for a 200$ all-in-one machine!  Love it!

Rite Aid Ad Preview - 3/14/10 o 3/20/10

Wow, what a slow week from the initial looks of it.  No week-specific SCRs, and nothing is jumping out at me as an amazing deal.

I see the Finish Automatic soap dispenser being $7.99 - $3.00 IP from Finish's site - $1.00 Video Value coupon from March = $3.99.  There's also a Satisfaction Rebate, if you're not happy with it - but again, don't think of that as a MIR, it's only if you're truly not happy with the product.

Here are the ad scans Google Doc!

Snow Snow snow...and a free magazine from P&G

I did not get my early edition of the Sunday paper this week due to the horrible snow we've been getting.  There's at least two and a half feet of snow out side, and it just keeps coming!  So no preview this week (as you may have noticed)

But, thanks to KitKittyKat on SD, I just learned about a free magazine called Rouge that P&G puts out.  You can sign up HERE to receive it by mail.  KitKittyKat mentioned that there are coupons occasionally in the magazine!  Free and possible coupons is a great combo!

Target Sheets and Sporting Goods going to 75% off!

The clearance sheets, towels and more are going to 75% off today at the Greensburg, PA Target!  I'm getting the kids ready and running up - we need sheets, and I want to look for some bath sheets too.

I'll report back when I get home, they were in the process of marking things down as of 11:30am this morning - thanks to my wonderful Target-loving neighbor :-)

UPDATE:  Ok, towels were NOT marked down any more than 50%....but the sheets, comforters, pillow cases, bed skirts and such were almost all 75% off.  Some, like the flannel sheets were still 50%, and the higher-end brands were still 30%.  But I did find organic cotton and bamboo sheets and pillowcases for of75% off, queen size bed skirt for $3.74ish, and twin and queen sheet sets for 75% off.  The Organic Cotton and Bamboo pillowcases were only $6.74 for king size 2-pc set, 3.xx for standard.

All those sporting goods type toys - kids tents, ball pits, dart boards, etc were 75% off too.  Bean bag toss for $3.08, Finding Nemo ball pit for 10$, Dora bowling set for 10$, and there was a ton more, but that's just what I grabbed.  Sporting goods like girl's soccer cleats, mouthguards and more were also 75% off.

Housewares - like the dishes and silverware were 75% off. Found some cute cookbook holders for $6.xx that will make great presents for my sister and mom...and I grabbed one for myself too!  Almost grabbed some more silverware, but hubby bought some using his ebay bucks a couple weeks ago, so I put those back.

Some toys are still 75% off too - mostly star wars, and some weird toy that connects to an online game I guess...I dunno, not into those.

Winter hats and gloves that are normally near sporting goods were also 75% off.  Found a great beanie with attached face mask for my son, for only $2.xx.

We go through tons of Syrup and French Fries - so that was my main focus this week.  The Pillsbury was a little bit of a MM (money maker) after you figure in the oyno's, and we love making Monkey Bread Cake with them - Yum!

Friday's Rite Aid Shopping

Well, despite my children being absolutely horrible today, I did manage to do some decent runs at Rite Aid and Giant Eagle!

RA:
1st Transaction
Olay Eye Roller 21.99
Always Infinity 6.99
Always Infinity (small box) 5.29
=$34.27
- 5/25
-$5.29 Always mq (buy large get small Always free)
-$3.00 Olay Regenerist mq
=$20.98
Used a GOS (Gift Of Savings) and paid 98cents OOP
Will get back $2.00 for buying the $6.99 Always

2nd Transaction:
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream $29.99
Olay Total Effects Cleansing Wipes $3.99
=33.98
-5/25
-3$ Olay Regenerist mq
-1$ Olay mq
24.98
Used a GOS (from my mom) and paid $4.98 OOP+tax

With those two transactions I have $68.25 towards the 'Buy 100$ of P&G get 35$ back' and since I hit the 50$ mark, I already qualify for the 15$ Visa Reward Card.  I'll need to purchase about 32$ worth of P&G product before 2/13 to hit 100$ and get the 35$ Card.  That should be easy!

Plus I can send in for the Olay 20$ Regenerist rebate for purchasing the Eye Roller and Micro-sculpting Cream.   The form has to be sent and postmarked by 2/25/10 (That's Monday! hurry!)

All in all, I spent $5.97 OOP and used 40$ in GOS certificates.  I'll get a 15$ Visa Card and a 20$ MIR, almost rolling my GOS's into cash.  I'm happy with that!
The above transaction are thanks to My Favorite Deals, who also posted them on SD.  Thank you very much!

And since my favorite cashier had put aside some 90% Holiday Clearance for me, I did a 3rd transaction:

3rd Transaction:
2 Lollipops (for the kids to try and keep them occupied) $1.00
1 Ring pop (for the kids, who then decided they didnt want this, they wanted the big lollipops) 88 cents
2 Celestial Seasonings Tea, 20ct $1.99 each
Dayquil $3.99
3 clearance gift tags 14 cents each
1 Water globe clearance $1.99
1 Herb Garden clearance $1.99
1 Holiday Fleece Throw 79 cents
1 Cupcake Cake Pan 99 cents
2 Benevia BOGO@ $8.99

-$5.00 benevia mq
=$6.52+tax
I'll get back $2.00 for the dayquil
so about $4.52 for everything - but my mom will give me 2$ for the tea, so $2.52 for everything :-)
